And one of our hottest stars is Jacoby Ellsbury, who's so speedy he and a buddy once ran down a deer just to see if they could. It's paying off with all those stolen bases and circus catches in the outfield. A little NDN speed goes a long way. We love him!

Tommy -- and hi Michelle -- I just found this site. Thanks. I am sad that I cannot go to the Comanche Nation Fair this weekend. It's just lack of resources that make plans hard to follow through on.
But good to find your site and your exciting links. When I snap out of it, that is, the lonesomeness of the single mom who works a lot, I remember that I am actually happy in my life.

The literal speed of survival out here in a small city is what tangles up my mind. Looking forward to finding a way to take it slower.

And yeah, as I told my students on 9/11, "let's have a moment of silence for the tens of thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians who have been killed in this war." The chance to share whatever I know of the truth to 8th graders is reason enough to go to work.

Peace, gn

We are like the ants, interdependant and a part of the whole... It is sad how folks here strive for the almighty "Independant" personality. I think they have missed a truth that could heal them...
As a transplant here 3 generations ago, I carry the memories of another world and thank my ancestors for their work. I try to sit softly on the earth and remember it is alive.
In our home - we have never celebrated Columbus day. Thanksgiving was to have been a going away party - but the people never left... I am sorry and ashamed for the lies that the history books perpetuate and do my best to make my children aware of the meaning of propaganda. I mourn the loss fo the gentle people who died during the invasion of this country and applaud the warriors who fought. The moving here could have been done with much more honor...
My great grandfather fought the invasion of his country and my mother's people came here starving as indentured servants. We all tried to feed our families and thanks to my father's wisdom, we learned to love the land.
I wish the polititians could settle their differences with a duel - to have a leader who had to put HIS life on the line would be interesting... We no longer need to aquire space for our people - why we need to control the world confuses me - although I understand economics - it saddens me,,,
But as a part of the wheel I know I participate. Your words brought that even more clearly. Thank you!

So well put! Of all my boys - only one wonder why I raised them in "lack" of the worldly things he has now!
We had no TV for years, then only the 3 channels as you mentioned! We still use only wood heat for the winters and if I didn't live in the desert - I would use only the wind to cool me.
Also, my loons are gone now - the pond is a part of a golf course and the cattle are now all replaced with what animals that can scavenge.
They learned to dress a deer in the shower and how to cook beans... Now they are men and can survive anywhere,,,
I suppose have 4 understand the gift they were given is a blessing,,,
I also learned you can't go back home... I went back to the hills - I have changed - but it is worse, the changes in the land! And the saddest thing is how the people celebrate the changes as progress
