Ramblin

Elder’s Meditation of the Day
“Listen to the howl of our spiritual brother, the wolf, for how it goes with him, so it goes for the natural world.”
–Oren R. Lyons, Spokesman, Traditional Circle of Elders
If we watch nature, we can tell a lot about what is going on in the world. The animals and the plants are great teachers. Some time ago, crops were sprayed with a poison to kill the insects. Other animals ate the insects. The small animals were eaten by the Eagles and the Wolves. We live in an interconnected system. What we do to one, we do to all. If our spiritual brothers are living in balance, chances are we humans are also living in balance.

Great Spirit, let me listen to my Earth teachers, the plants and the animals.

Had a dream the other night, was kinda weird, I was a US Marshal or something and was chasing Morgan Freeman and found him living in a shelter by a villiage amde for a pack of wolves to live in during the winter. Weird dream. I have always loved wolves, them and crows.

I don’t really know what to write. Yeah, a loss for words I have. Guess I’ll just ramble a bit or so.

Friday was the youngest kidlets birthday, he’s 13 now. A official teenager, which means he’s a official PITA as well. Unfortunatly he’s grounded for being a butthead this past week. His one friend wasn’t home today so it was just us for his cake and ice cream tonight. His mom bought him Guitar Hero World something or other, it makes noise.

Watched Ghost Hunters on Wedensday night, one of the few times I’ve ever watched it. I think I only did because it was pretty much based in my home town in NH. They were at Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse which is right next to a old Revolutionary war fort, that was even used to protect the Harbor enterance during WW2. During WW2 they built a addition to the fort (as well as a few others) that had the profile of a ship to make it look to submarines as the harbor was protected by ships instead of land based forts.

Work has been pretty boring, which is actually kinda good. Excitement and trucks just don’t go well together. The roads haven’t been real bad yet. Just got home this morning from a trip to three army bases in Virginia that I was at Friday.

Have been listening to more music while at work rather than talk radio, I’ve kinda been avoiding the political talk radio. Luckily I have a bunch of other stuff I can fill the time with, Like Martha Stewart and Dr. Laura as well as a trucking channel, even though I avoid that like the plaugue usually. If it wasn’t for Rollye James and Coast to Coast AM I don’t know what I’d do for radio anymore. G Gordon Liddy is about the only ‘political’ talk radio I’ll listen to anymore.

I love this song by Garth Brooks, always reminds me of Christina, a very close friend back in the early 80’s when I was living in Belle Chasse, LA while in the military, no I’ve never tried to get back in touch with her, The last time I saw her was in September of 1983. But yeah, I still remember.

Last time I saw her it was turnin’ colder
But that was years ago
Last I heard she had moved to Boulder
But where she’s now I don’t know

But there’s somethin’ ’bout this time of year
That spins my head around
Takes me back makes me wonder
What she’s doin’ now

Just for laughs I dialed her old number
But no one knew her name
Hung up the phone sat there and wondered
If she’d ever done the same

I took a walk in the evenin’ wind
To clear my head somehow
But tonight I lie here thinkin’
What she doin’ now

Cause what she’s doin’ now is tearin’ me apart
Fillin’ up my mind and emptying my heart
I can hear her call each time the cold wind blows
And I wonder if she knows

Peace,

I am Appalled

Elder’s Meditation of the Day
“Things would go well for us if we would think positively about everything.”
–Mary Hayes, CLAOQUOT
Each of our thoughts are like individual seeds. These thoughts will plant our life garden. Whatever our thoughts, they grow in our gardens. Each day we will process about 50,000 thoughts or thought seeds. Positive thoughts will produce positive results. Have you ever been aware of what you are thinking about during the day? Of the possible 50,000 thoughts in one day-if the positive thoughts were flowers and the negative thoughts were weeds-how would your garden look at the end of the day?

Great Spirit, let me plant positive seeds.

priorities

I was looking for some new “motivational” type posters for my screensaver last night and found this one.  After hearing on the news of a Wal-Mart “seasonal” employee being trampled to death.  I think every one of these people, this “rabble” should have all been tossed in jail for murder.  I am appalled by these peoples actions, the gene pool in Valley Stream, NY needs some cleansing.  And we wonder why Islamic Fundamentalists hate us.  We are no better than they are.

Today here was freaky…. Lightning, Thunder, rain, snow, hail….. all at the same time,  then 20 minutes later the sun was out…. But I guess it’s better to be here in PA rather than GA and SC tonight.

This is a good song, some of you old people might remember it.

Life was filled with guns and war,
And everyone got trampled on the floor,
I wish we’d all been ready
Children died, the days grew cold,
A piece of bread could buy a bag of gold,
I wish we’d all been ready,
There’s no time to change your mind,
The Son has come and you’ve been left behind.

A man and wife asleep in bed,
She hears a noise and turns her head, he’s gone,
I wish we’d all be ready,
Two men walking up a hill,
One disappears and one’s left standing still,
I wish we’d all been ready,
There’s no time to change your mind,
The Son has come and you’ve been left behind.

Life was filled with guns and war,
And everyone got trampled on the floor,
I wish we’d all been ready,
Children died, the days grew cold,
A piece of bread could buy a bag of gold,
I wish we’d all been ready,
There’s no time to change your mind,
How could you have been so blind,
The Father spoke, the demons dined,
The Son has come and you’ve been left behind.
